You get used to seeing the same things over and over again so you have to trick your brain into noticing the same thing over and over again.15) Let’s Bring it Home Practices to Visualize Your Highest Self Not only do I write down my goals, but I change where they are, and what they look like from time to time so that it catches my eye. My goal was tangible, and visible though and I stayed strong. I was dirt poor and barely had enough money in my bank account to drive home for the summer. I set a goal for myself before I graduated high school that I would not get student loans for my bachelor’s degree. As a fellow goal setter, I know how important this is. Your goals should be in a place that you will look at often and eye catching. Focus on what you will do today, not what you didn’t do yesterday. I would stall until I had weeks, and then months to make up. I used to write in a journal every day but any time I missed a day I would overwhelm myself with the idea of writing not just for that day, but for the day before. Discouragement is the number one killer of goals. Make amends, find a way to hold yourself accountable so that you can continue improving yourself. What will really make the difference is your recognizing the event and righting it. Say you want to stop yelling at your kids but your daughter is really getting on your nerves.
